Nic is an amazing and very knowledgeable guide. We had a great experience exploring Joshua Tree doing some hikes and off roading.

I wanted to visit Joshua Tree with my 21 year old grand daughter but wanted to do something special. I reserved a Jeep Wrangler from Avis and started researching off roading. I found Nic on line and he is the only guide who will lead you in your own car off road. We met up at Joshua Tree Coffee shop and then set up the car for off road. We spent about 8 hours up and down rocky trails, Nic showed up petroglyphs most tourists were walking by, and were soon up in the mountains on trails with beautiful vistas. through walkie talkies Nic taught me how to drive off road and soon he had me leading up difficult terrain. Nic is friendly, very knowledgeable about Joshua Tree and is also an excellent instructor. if you want to build lifetime memories, really see Joshua Tree and learn about your off-road vehicle I highly recommend Nic and Joshua Tree Off Road.

I first found Nic from the beautiful pictures he posts on Instagram of the Joshua Tree area, including Big Bear and a few other beautiful spots. I reached out to him because I wanted someone experienced to train me on how to use the 4×4 system on my truck and also how to go offroading safely. We connected first on Instagram and then shifted over to email. Nic asked me a lot of questions and he put together an epic itinerary of off-road driving, sightseeing, and special background. He is local to the area and extremely knowledgeable about many off road trails and spots inside the park that are not on any standard maps. He also has extensive information about the geology and ecology of the area which are fascinating topics. Nic taught how me to use the various drive modes on my truck and also how to navigate obstacles safely. He showed us stunning scenery that isn’t in any guidebook. At the end of the day he also provided us an extensive list of places to visit inside and outside the park, including ones that are only accessible by four wheel drive vehicle. For the rest of our stay in the Joshua Tree area we followed all of Nic’s advice and we saw absolutely incredible things while staying mostly away from the most “touristy” spots found in most guidebooks and apps. Nic is also friendly, approachable, patient and enthusiastic–he’s a wonderful person with whom to spend time. Whether you have very little experience or a lot, bring your rig and your sense of adventure and you will have the time of your life with Nic. My wife and I are already planning our next trip to the area and we can’t wait to work with Nic again.

Can’t recommend Nic enough. We have hiked, explored areas we didn’t know were here and learned so much history. If you have a 4×4 and want to go offroad into the desert in your vehicle following someone who knows what he is doing grab an available time slot and have fun safely.
