An initial detailed safety briefing will be provided, with safety stops along the route

Walkie talkies will be provided to each driver for the duration of the excursion

Printed detailed trail and terrain maps are provided

Waivers and acknowledgement of risk forms are required to be signed prior to departure

How to
Prepare
for Your Ride
You & Your Vehicle
A high-clearance, 4WD/AWD vehicle suitable for off-road terrain
Good condition and serviced recently (oil change / fluid)
Equipped with recovery gear / tow equipment (optional)
Full tank of gas
Driver must be 21 years or older
Stay with The Group
Be sure to stay with the group and radio for assistance if needed.
Be prepared for sudden weather changes; temperatures can vary drastically.
Flash floods are possible.
What To Bring / Do
Ample water (minimum 1 gallon for each person)
Food (1-2 meals depending on whether you book a half/full day)
Emergency supplies and/or first aid kit
Inform someone about your planned route and expected
return time

Navigation Tools
Our guide uses a Garmin inReach® Satellite Communicator for navigation.
While it’s not required that guests have GPS devices, we do recommend you download offline Google Maps of Joshua Tree National Park beforehand. (
